Why The Old Path?

Today I just wanted to say a little about the title of the blog.  Why “A Journey on the Old Path”?  The main answer:
“For I Am the Lord, I change not.”  Malachi 3:6
If God doesn’t change, why do we?  Why do we assume that His Word was written for people thousands of years ago?  Who do we think we are to try to modernize The God of Heaven?
First, it is my desire to be the woman that God has called me to be.  To love my husband with all of my heart, and to serve him to the best of my ability.  You read it right the first time!  To serve him!  God created wives for husbands!  Not the other way around!  This is an old fashioned way of thinking, but it is what is right and honorable in the sight of God!  Thus, The Old Path!
Aside from my desire to be a helper fit for my husband, it is also our desire as a family to raise our children to appreciate the simple life.  This includes everything from the way that we serve the Lord to the food that we put in our mouths.  We’ve even added chickens to our 1 ½ acre this spring!  We’re hoping to raise our own eggs!  Mmmm, much more tasty than supermarket eggs!
So  you can see where our journey as a family is headed.  Back to the Old Path.  We’re not perfect, and we never will be!  It is only by God’s grace that we will continue to grow in the Knowledge of Him!
